In May 2013, PMB acquired all the shares in the MGG Micro-Incandescent Menzel GmbH. MGG is a well-known producer of micro-lightbulbs, which are mainly used in the field of safety and medical technology as well as aerospace. MGG was founded in 1963. The first miniature incandescent lightbulbs produced at the time were still produced manually by experienced glassblowers. As demand grew, production became increasingly automated. The incandescent lightbulbs produced by MGG are frequently used as components of sensors, for example for the detection of gases or for the authenticity testing of banknotes. The acquisition of MGG shows that PMB also offers an ideal home for small and medium-sized companies. This is especially true if there is no suitable successor in the company, as was the case with MGG.
